Travel Beauty Style – The Latest Travel-Friendly Discoveries!

Hello, travelers!
If you’ve been to my blog before, you know that I am a light packer and always looking for ways to reduce my 3-1-1 liquid count. If you are new to this page, consider yourself warned – I write a lot about streamlining your travel wardrobe, accessories, and toiletries but I bet you are good with that, considering something lead you here.

Today, I want to share my latest travel-friendly finds from Lush USA. I have been a fan of Lush for several years, relying on a couple of their products for consistency in my travel toiletry line-up. Over the weekend, I had a chance to refill my stock and, with the help of Arianna at my local Lush, try some new (to me) products. First up, a recap of my must-haves!

Ultrabalm – Packaged in a metal tin, this is a multi-purpose moisturizer that I count on for in-flight smoothing and soothing. In the air or on the ground, this is always in my bag to get rid of static, soften hands(elbows, heels, lips), or stand in for lip balm. It does not appeal to my sense of smell since the minimal fragrance it does have is sort of medicinal, but that’s part of the appeal since it has no added ingredients, making it ideal for sensitive skin.

Softness in a tin – Ultrabalm

SeaNik Shampoo Bar – This little cake of shampoo is always with me, home or away. It is great for cleaning my hair and leaving it with lots of shine the barest hint of scent. It lathers well and rinses well, even in super low water pressure (I’m looking at you Koh Chang Island!)

Seanik

The blue of the prettiest ocean with bits of seaweed – SeaNik

Now, onto my new travel-friendly discoveries!

Brazilliant Shampoo Bar – Another winner from the solid shampoo line, I had the chance to try Brazilliant several months ago and needed my own bar (or would it be called a round?). This is every bit as good as SeaNik and has a light but earthy scent. It is a bit patchouli-y for me (probably the ylang ylang, in truth) but not offensive and doesn’t seem to leave anything behind but shine – LOTS OF SHINE!

Needles and Pines Shower Jelly – Wow! This is an odd little thing but a new favorite! I told Arianna (Lush representative) that I wasn’t interested in this, but she slipped a sample of this in my bag. Clearly, she knew something I didn’t – this is a winner! Washing with the sample was like washing with a Jello shot, slippery and fun! I find the smell fresh and clean, like evergreens making it great for men and women. What impressed me most was how soft my skin felt afterwards. I live in a hot dry climate with very hard water which usually means I have to moisturize within minutes of a shower to avoid that tight itchy feeling of dry skin. With this, my skin felt supple and soft without moisturizing, huzzah!

Needles And Pines

In short supply, so order it if you are tempted – Needles and Pines

I also discovered something that DOES count toward the 3-1-1 allowance but is so great I am happy to decant a little bit into my travel-friendly containers – Charity Pot Body Lotion! I don’t know where to start extolling the virtues of this product! It is incredibly moisturizing and has a great scent which is slightly powdery but not cloying to my heightened sense of smell. The only drawback is that it is definitely a liquid so you will need to scoop out some to fit in your GoToob.

Just a few notes to close out my LushFest!

  • This is not a sponsored post. All opinions are mine and nothing was provided in exchange for a review which means you get an honest opinion.
  • Your hair and skin may react differently than mine does so be sure to read the ingredients and use at your own risk. Just because it leaves me happy, shiny, and soft doesn’t mean it will do the same for you.
  • Lush has a solid foundation of charitable giving so be sure to check out their values.
  • Be sure to go to the appropriate Lush site for your country:

What do you think? Have you tried any Lush products? Would you try any of these or did I miss your favorite? Let me know in the comments!

They can be really drying, especially for those with curly hair. The dryness of these helps my stick straight hair actually have some life to it, but I do augment the shampoo with some extra rich conditioner when at home. On the road, I don’t because I usually travel to humid places where my hair needs all the ‘damage’ it can get just to do anything.
Let me know how you get on with the Brazilliant!
